A SALUTE TO OUR TROOPS
A Salute to Our Troops is a national program founded in 2007 by Microsoft Public Sector in partnership with the USO to honor service men and women and their families as faces of courage, inspiration and selfless dedication to our country. In 2009, A Salute to Our Troops took place in Washington, D.C. and included multiple activities to brighten the holiday season for U.S. troops and their families. Activities ranged from an Operation USO Care Package day with the Washington Capitals and WTOP/WFED Radio; to the USO-Metro "Courage Cap" program that was announced at a special Capitals game where 50+ wounded warriors were in attendance. Unfortunately, due to severe, record breaking winter weather, the culminating event - a private showing of the traveling Radio City Christmas Spectacular featuring the world famous Rockettes - was cancelled.
